Judas will include the “narrative lego” system, which will respond strongly to the solution of the player

Speaking during the interview, the creator of Bioshock Kevin Levin said that his next game, Judas, would include what he calls "narrative Lego"(Narrative Legos), which will react much more to the player than in his previous games.

He also mentioned that the team was still working on how exactly they implement the system in Judas, and that they had not yet talked about it publicly.

As for the development of Judas, Levin said that he began with a small team and concept of a new game system, but without a specific game, characters or peace. The development team had to create everything from scratch, which eventually took a lot of time. He also explained the long period of development of his and his team to the quality and the desire to avoid the style of high pressure, characteristic of previous projects. Levin mentioned that many people came to the studio, including many with whom he had already worked on previous games.

Although he, perhaps, did not go into details about the system itself, Levin is not the first time mentioned the term "narrative Lego". Earlier, he discussed this idea during his performance on GDC in 2014, where he stated that the strengths of interactive media consist in the participation of players, the ability to interact with the content in various ways during several passages of the game and the dynamic nature of the experience. According to him, it is extremely important for the narrative to fully cover these elements. He talked about a system that creates nonlinear, reproduced sequences within the framework of the narrative. At its core, the idea is to decompose the narrative into the smallest, tangible components, to explore the methods of their rearrangement and create a wide range of narrative capabilities from these construction blocks.

Levin came up with the term "narrative Lego" based on the analogy that he presented during his speech. He said that children’s game sets, such as the star of death, were specific and visually bright, but served the only goal, unlike Lego. According to him, although Lego may seem less exciting and attractive in themselves, they have the ability to endless recombination and re -profile.
