Unlike many protagonists of the GTA Games series Tommy Versetti, by the beginning of the game, had a fairly impressive track record in an organized criminal group. Thomas was a capable member of the triallie family and successfully advanced the career ladder, until 15 people were arrested for the murder in the Kharwood area of the city of Liberty City, for which he was called the Harwood butcher. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City told the story of an experienced Tommy after imprisonment.
Chilean fan named Flavio, also known as Sick.Vicious66, announced the development of a modification called GTA: Liberty Wiseguys, which would show the story of the formation of the famous gangster and his service to the Foreelli family.
As planned by the author, the modest effect will take place between 1968 and 1971, and the main inspiration for modification will be the cult film “Glorious Guys” by Martin Scorsese, which was constantly cited in the series Grand Theft Auto. Among the characters will be both familiar heroes, such as Sonny Chorelli, Truth and Don Leone, and new ones, including the fathers of Tommy Versetti and Tony Sipriani.
Modification is based on Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas: Liberty City and will include functions such as buying real estate and clothing.
Flavio states that the mod will come out "soon". Now he is in the search for assistants in the development – code and scripts. The only question is how Take-Two, known for blocking fan projects, will relate to this idea. It is also unclear how things will be with voice acting – the original voice actor Ray Lutta died on May 26, 2022. Will the fan of someone else find for voice acting whether he will cut phrases or uses neural networks – it is unclear. The last 2 options can be fraught with copyright problems.
It is worth noting that in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City there is an official prequel, whose action takes place 2 years before the events of the original – Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. Nevertheless, he told the story of another character – a former military named Victor Vance.
