Bloodlines 2 is created on Unreal Engine 5; Paradox is confident in the release window

On Pax West 2023, Paradox Interactive finally presented the long-awaited news about Vampire: The Masquarade-Bloodlines 2. After replacing Hardsuit Labs as a developer, the British studio The Chinese Room worked on the game. The launch is scheduled for the fall of 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S | X.

Of course, the release of Bloodlines 2 was repeatedly delayed; Initially, it was supposed to take place at the end of 2020. However, in an interview with Digital Trends, Sean Grini (Vice President of the World of Darkness in Paradox) expressed confidence that the purpose of the game is scheduled for the fall of 2024, since the game has already overcome the stage of alpha development.

If we were not sure of the new window window, we would not have started a new marketing campaign. There is a reason why we did not communicate for some time and did not promote this game. We wanted The Chinese Room to have the opportunity to get this brainchild, grow it without interrupting the development, and get a pure alpha version. Now that we have passed alpha version, it’s time to talk to our fans.

As for the gap with Hardsuit Labs and work on Vampire: The Masquarade – Bloodlines 2, Grini said:

Hardsuit Labs is a great studio, and they did a great good job on this project. We just had a completely different vision of the final product, and we could not come to a single opinion. Therefore, the correct solution was to stop cooperation and find a studio that would share this vision. The work done on the game was very important to bring us to a certain point, so the topics, Seattle as a setting, as well as a significant part of the graphics and characters were postponed.

The latest statement contains especially important information when assessing the confidence of Paradox. The creation of a sobs of the highest class in just three years from scratch would be a difficult task for anyone, but, given the already done a large amount of work, the Chinese Room, of course, received a solid start.

The Chinese Room also decided to switch from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5, which means that Bloodlines 2 can use the advantages of built -in functions such as Lumen and Nanite. It is unclear whether the ray trace and support for NVIDIA DLSS will still be included, as it was originally planned.

The developers will publish information about each game clan until the end of 2023, and the disclosure of the gameplay is scheduled for January 2024.
