One of the characters in Baldur’s Gate 3 is a tribute to the father of the fan of the fan of Alzheimer

IN Baldur’s Gate 3, In the third act of the game, players may encounter the character Golbreyt STredivas, a famous hunter for freshlywheel minds who resigned. However, it turned out that the story of the character is much deeper and goes far beyond the game itself.

In 2020, the fan of the game under the nickname Solfalia wrote a letter on the Larian forum in which he thanked the studio for the opportunity to play the early access of the game. According to Solfalia, he and his father are long -standing fans of the Baldur’s Gate and Divinity series, the games of these episodes were together many times. They planned to do the same thing with Baldur’s Gate 3, however, his father’s discovered illness prevented the plans – he was diagnosed with Alzheimer. Nevertheless, early access allowed them to enjoy at least the first act of the game together.

This message on the forum did not become any popular topic-it gained only one comment, but it turned out that Larian was in the know: after some time they contacted Solfalia and invited him to perpetuate his memory in the game. It is worth noting that Solfalia did not notice the first letter from the developers, but Larian after a few months still found a way to contact him.

I thought it would be some random mention in the book or plate, secretly hoping for NPC at least with a phrase on one line. Then he began to thoroughly go through the game so as not to miss anything. – Says Solfalia

At the same time, reality exceeded his entire expectation: the developers added a whole character with their own history. According to Solfalia, after he saw the Golbreyt of STredivas, who looked like his father, and then saw a letter to his son – he got a lump in his throat.

Solfalia’s father unfortunately could not fully enjoy Baldur’s Gate 3 – by the time the full version of the game was released, his disease was already very predicted. Nevertheless, his son managed to tell him that he would be immortalized in the game, which he was very happy and grateful to the developers.

This story once again clearly shows how Larian loves and appreciate their fan community.
